Article 4:
The Ministry of Interior has a mission to lead the administration of all levels of local administration in the field of politics, administration, management of the National Police Force in the field of national security, public order and social security in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Article 5:
The Ministry of Interior has the following roles and responsibilities:
- Commanding the National Police Force, the Capital and Provincial Administrative Unity Command, and cooperating with other relevant authorities in maintaining national security, strengthening public order, and ensuring social security in the Kingdom of Cambodia, pursuant to the Law on the Administration of the Capital, Provinces, Municipalities, Districts, Khans, Laws on the Administration of Communes, Sangkats and Relevant Legal Documents.
- Involving the Ministry of Interior and sub-national administration in providing quality administrative services, transparency, efficiency and timely response to the needs of the people.
- Registering political parties, associations and non-governmental organizations, and monitoring their implementation properly pursuant to the law in force and its regulations.
- Examining and participating in opinions related to the procedures and procedures of the election.
- Inspecting, receiving and resolving complaints, defamation complaints of citizens related to officials within the framework of the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with relevant ministries and institutions.
- Arranging the location of people's villages according to the geographical location, customs, traditions, culture, and religion of the people.
- Managing the work of prisons in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
- Training human resources, civil administration officials, sub-national administrative staff, national police officers, and prison officials of the Ministry of Interior.
- Preparing, proposing or appointing positions, promotions, transfers, transfers of duties, commendations, rewards, discipline, reductions in ranks, removals from positions, dismissals from the framework, and selecting candidates for administrative staff, civil servants, national police and prison officials in accordance with the law.
- Being in charge of logistics, finance, education, health, construction and engineering, as well as state property management, internal audit of financial management, state property management and staff list management in all units under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior.
- Reporting the measures and implementation of national secret work in accordance with the law to protect the King, senior national and international leaders, and protect national institutions, political goals, diplomacy, economy, culture, trade, tourism, and major programs of national, international and expatriates staying in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
- Leading the management of firearms, explosives, and ammunition of the national police force, public institutions, officials and civilians.
- Managing fire prevention, rescue work, search for missing persons, public order and traffic safety, roads, waterways, and railways, in accordance with legal standards.
- Determining measures to guide and manage the work of the border police, contribute to the protection of the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Kingdom of Cambodia in accordance with national and international law, and maintain security and order along the border.
- Researching, editing or amending or creating laws and regulations, monitoring the implementation of laws and regulations, and disseminating laws and regulations within the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior.
- Making a report summarizing the work results and raising the direction for all areas of the Ministry of Interior.
- Exercising other rights granted by the Royal Government.
