Welcome to visit the official website of Ministry of Interior!
Dear Readers,
To achieve Cambodia’s vision 2050 that Cambodia will become a high-income country, the Royal Government of Cambodia has set out policies; the Pentagonal Strategy – Phase I by identifying the key priorities, namely People, Road, Water, Electricity, and Technology; as well as other roadmaps for digital sector, which are considered as vital approaches in responding to the 4th Industrial Revolution and accelerate the digital transformation of Cambodia’s economy and society.
As an Etat-major of the government in contributing to achieving the aforementioned visions, the Ministry of Interior has been continuing its mission vigorously by its roles and responsibilities, especially the utilization of digital technology as a mechanism to strengthen the working efficiency in public administration services delivery, security and social order, safe villages and communes, combating all types of crimes, and human resource development. Therefore, as requested by the Ministry of Interior, the Royal Government of the Seventh Legislature has established two new General Departments – the General Department of Human Resource, and the General Department of Digital Technology and Media. In addition, regarding digital technology, the Ministry of Interior established a working group on digital modernization and digital transformation, as well as has developed a "Digital Technology Strategic Plan 2023-2027" as direction for the subordinate institutions both national and sub-national levels.
Until now, the Ministry of Interior is also a strong and potential national institution that could fulfill its mission and duties consistently, and achieve remarkable achievements for the people and nation. Those achievements are: 1. Coordinating, promoting, and reforming sub-national administration from a centralized management system to a decentralization and deconcentration democratic administrative system, which could enhance the public and local development; 2. Reforming the national police force through capacity building to make it a strong reliance for the people; 3. Participating and contributing actively in fighting against terrorism, transnational crime, human trafficking, money laundering, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and other relevant responsibilities; 4. Making laws, regulations, and procedures for citizens and for the registration of political parties, associations, and nongovernmental organizations; 5. Modifying and restructuring the management system of foreigners and immigrants; 6. Enhancing professional measures to implement safe village, commune, and Sangkat policies, and 7. Implementing the National Strategic Plan on Identification 2017-2026.
